Terms of service

Last updated October 17, 2026

These terms are the agreement between Sylent Partners Inc. ("Sylent", "we") and the business that signs up for Sylent ("you"). They cover the Sylent service: the work our AI does for you, the dashboard at app.sylentpartners.com and the Sylent phone app. If you accept them for a business, you confirm you're allowed to.

Your quote sets out your plan and price. Where it says something different from these terms, the quote wins on that point. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

What we do

Sylent is an AI back office. Depending on your plan, AI agents built on Claude (made by Anthropic) do recurring work for your business, such as bookkeeping, reminders, answering customers, thank-yous and review requests, through the tools you connect. The Sylent team sets it up, keeps an eye on it and supports you.

We keep improving how the service works. If we remove something your plan relies on, we'll tell you in advance.

Your approvals and controls

  • You decide what runs on its own and what waits for your OK. Anything that speaks in your business's name waits for your approval, unless you've chosen to let that kind of task run automatically. You can change this at any time.
  • Payments only happen after an owner approves that specific payment in the Sylent app with Face ID or a fingerprint. A text, an email link or the website can't approve a payment.
  • When you approve something, we carry out exactly what you saw. Please read before you approve: you're responsible for what you approve and for the settings you choose.

AI, and what we don't do

AI can make mistakes. We design the service so that what matters waits for you, and we check the agents' work, but we can't promise it will be free of errors. Tell us when something's wrong and we'll fix the work.

Sylent doesn't file taxes and doesn't give tax, legal, accounting or financial advice. Your accountant should review your books and your filings.

Your responsibilities

  • Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your sign-in, and the phones that can approve payments, secure. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access, and remove a lost phone in Settings.
  • Make sure you have the right to share your customers' information with us and to contact them (for example, the consent Canada's anti-spam law requires for commercial messages). The texts we send for you name your business and say how to opt out, and we honour every opt-out.
  • Don't use Sylent for anything unlawful, for spam or to mislead anyone.

Your tools and other services

Sylent works through tools you already use, such as QuickBooks Online, Square and Jobber, connected with your own accounts. Their own terms apply to them, and we aren't responsible for their outages, changes or mistakes. You can disconnect a tool at any time; the work that needs it stops when you do.

Fees and payment

  • You pay your plan's monthly fee in advance, plus any one-time setup fee in your quote. Prices are in Canadian dollars and don't include sales tax (such as HST), which we add as required.
  • We'll tell you at least 30 days before a price change takes effect.
  • If a payment is late, we'll let you know. If it's still unpaid after that, we may pause the service until it's paid.

Cancelling

  • Your plan is month-to-month. You can cancel any time with 30 days' notice, by email or by writing to us in the dashboard.
  • We can end the service with 30 days' notice, or right away if you seriously break these terms or use Sylent to harm others.
  • Before your service ends, you can download your data from Settings, and we'll help with anything else you need. After it ends, we delete it as our privacy policy describes.

Your data

Your business's data stays yours. You allow us to use it only to provide and support the service, as our privacy policy explains, and we don't sell it.

We may use anonymous, combined numbers (for example the average time saved per task) to run and improve Sylent, and to describe our results publicly, for example on our website. They never identify you or your customers.

Confidentiality

We keep your business information confidential and use it only for your service. In turn, please keep confidential anything private you learn about how Sylent works.

Our property

Sylent, its software and its materials belong to us. While you're a client, you may use the service for your business. If you send us ideas or feedback, we're free to use them.

Our promise, and its limits

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, the service is provided as is, without other promises.

As far as the law allows, neither of us is responsible to the other for indirect losses, such as lost profits, revenue or data, and we aren't responsible for any other losses or damages arising from the service either: if something goes wrong, we'll fix the work, and you can cancel as these terms allow. Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility the law doesn't allow us to limit.

If someone makes a claim against us because of information you gave us, messages you approved or asked us to send, or your breaking these terms, you'll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll email you at least 30 days before an important change takes effect; if you don't agree with it, you can cancel before then.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario decide any dispute about them.
